Scientists have developed an “adapter plug” molecule that transforms spare antibodies into HIV killers, in what could be a major step in the fight against AIDS.In the year to December 2007, Australia had 27,331 cases of HIV infection and 10,230 cases of AIDS, said the report by the National Center in HIV Epidemiology and Clinical Research.Researchers found a mining boom in Australia may be linked with a staggering rise in HIV infections among those who travel to Asia.
